Lets meet the playwright curators who will work together with the storytellers on the stories of route-making. 

Andriy Bondarenko is a playwright, cultural critic, and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Co-founder of the Playwrights' Theater in Kyiv. Participant of the Worldwide Ukrainian Play Readings project. Lecturer at the Ivan Franko National University of Lviv (Department of Theater Studies and Acting). Employee of the “Home of Sound” department at Lviv Radio. Among his main productions are “Phantom Land”, Garage City Theater (Santa Monica, USA); “What We Hear in the Dark” (based on the play “The Atomic Mermaid”) - neue Buhne Senftenberg Theater (Senftenberg, Germany); “Lviv Tango” - Maria Zankovetska Theater (Lviv); “The Light From Below: Stories from Ukrainian Basements” - Barons Court Theater (London, UK); ‘Asshole’ - Golden Gate Theater (Kyiv). Two short films based on Andriy's plays were created - "Peace and Calm" (participant of many European festivals) and "Night with Natalia" (participant of the Kyiv International Film Festival Molodist and the Ukrainian Film Week festival in Prague, Czech Republic).

Nina Zakhozhenko is a playwright, translator, and theater worker (Kyiv/Lviv). Her plays "Alina's Seven First Works", "Cops Against Snails", "I Am Normal", and "The Carrier" were shortlisted and longlisted for Ukrainian playwriting competitions, translated into seven languages, and performed at a number of venues in Ukraine and around the world. Her collection of dramatic short stories “Me, War, and a Plastic Grenade” was a finalist for the Aurora International Drama Prize and received a special mention in the Lviv Literary Prize, a UNESCO City of Literature. The author also works with post-dramatic, immersive and documentary art projects. In 2023, she received the Women in Arts Award in the Theater category.

“Culture Helps” is a project co-funded by the European Union under a special call for proposals to support Ukrainian displaced persons and the Ukrainian cultural and creative sectors. The project is implemented by Insha Osvita (UA) and zusa (DE).
