Living the City: Stories and Routes

An important area of our activity is working with different experiences of war. This fall we will be working on the project “Living the City: Stories and Routes”

The Lviv Cultural Center NGO together with the team of the Home of Sound, a part of Lviv Radio LPE, are launching a project for new residents of Lviv who arrived in the city after 2014, fleeing the war, to create an audio walk based on their stories of everyday interaction with the city. The project is being implemented as part of the "Culture Helps/Культура Допомагає" program.

“Living the City: Stories and Routes” will last until the end of November and will culminate in the creation of a multimedia walking route that will run through one of Lviv's districts. Everyone will be able to walk the route and listen to the stories.

Very soon we will start recruiting participants who are ready to tell their stories about personal places and everyday routes in the city. The materials received will be processed by two curators/playwrights. As a result, they will create an anthology/map of stories that will present personal routes through the city and significant local places and sounds highlighted from the stories of people who were forced to come here because of the war.

“Culture Helps” is a project co-funded by the European Union under a special call for proposals to support Ukrainian displaced persons and the Ukrainian cultural and creative sectors. The project is implemented by Insha Osvita (UA) and zusa (DE).
